It's Birthday Season

Hello Crafty Friends,

Not only is it back to school time, but it is birthday season at our house. My son celebrated his 21st birthday last week, mine is in 3 weeks, and then my hubby's is 10 days later. Keeps us busy shopping too.

I love cupcakes for birthdays, especially sweet chocolate ones!

All the purple star buttons were in my stash...I sure like how they look! Adds a little pizzazz!

Instead of using this stamp I cut the letters, so it would fit in my arrow banner.

Inside coordinates with background papers.

Have a great day!

Sunshine Linky Party at Pause Dream Enjoy

Hello Everyone,

Happy Friday! Today is the last day of pre-planning week and it is Meet Your Teacher day, so I will be meeting many of my new students. I have 21 students on my roster, so I am hoping for a great turnout!

Today is also a new Pause Dream Enjoy Linky Party.

This Week's Challenge...
Sunshine
I decided to do something a little different. Rather than using a sun...I was thinking about our Sunshine Committee. It is a group that meets regularly to send well wishes, congrats, and/or plans parties. One of the occasions that they send cards is "Get Well".

I used yellow (like the sun) for the letters and ribbon to cheer up the recipient. The cut is from SVG Attic.

Another Get Well card with a yellow background.

This cut is from My Scrap Chick.

Skittles by DoubleClick
Hope you will join us at Pause Dream Enjoy Linky Party this week for our "Sunshinechallenge. The other design team members have a variety of projects, so be sure to check them out today!

Black Raspberry Ice Cream at DoubleClick's Food Challenge

Hello Crafty Friends,

Welcome back to Carson's Creations and thanks for stopping by! It's time for a DoubleClick Skittles Challenge.

This Week's Challenge...
Food

Here is my Design Team project...
After the last two days at school with the computer and scheduling issues...I could use a double...maybe even a triple swirl of ice cream! When I was growing up, we could get a black raspberry ice cream just like this (well, it would put a smile on your face).

Yummm! Sure could use some now!

I used Plenty (a purplish color) Skittles with my Miss Kate Cuttables  cute soft serve ice cream. Pink glitter glue was added to the cherry on top.

Now, I hope you will  join us this week for the "Food" challenge at DoubleClick Skittles. Be sure to check out the other Design Team members.

Thanks for stopping by!

Nautical

Here is my Design Team project...
We use to have a boat that you could take to the lake, but we sold it with hopes of getting a bigger one some day. We haven't bought a new boat yet, but I know we will eventually.

An oldie...K Andrews stamp

Watercolor background and waves created with MFT stencil.

Miss Kate Cuttables sailboat propped on foam dots and sequins scattered like clouds.

It's Back to School, so Let's Send Out A Thank You

Happy Monday!
Today is the day...back to school for a new year. Another summer is gone, but I did get LOTS completed. This week is teacher preparation week and the kids start next Monday. I will get to meet my students on Friday at Meet Your Teacher. Exciting day for many!

I want to say "Thank You" to all my crafty friends that I chatted with throughout the summer and helped with me with creative endeavors. I was able to learn from you and try new techniques because of your willingness to share. So, today I'd like to share a thank you card. You can never have enough!

I used scrap papers and MFT Blueprints. I layered a few matching flowers on the stitched circle and stamped the "Thank You" with Cobalt Ranger Archival ink.

Polka dot ribbon and a dark blue button garnish the top. The inside coordinates for a  personal message.

Hope you have a great week!

Thanks for Being There

Hello Everyone,

Happy Saturday...well, sort of! This is my last weekend before going back to school on Monday! Summer flew right by, but I did get some yard work and paper crafting projects completed. I could use another couple weeks to finish decluttering, but I know the parents are probably ready to send their children back to start learning again.

This past Thursday I asked my daughter if she felt like going for a car ride since she had been in bed for a few days with her mouth being sore and being dizzy from the meds (She had all four wisdom teeth removed and some of the gums were trimmed back.). I thought some fresh air might help with recovery. She agreed and we went to My Favorite Things in Eustis, FL. I had no idea there was a real shop open for business less than an hour away.
It was like being in a candy store! So many choices! I did purchase  a few items and plan on going back for one of the classes on Saturdays.

Here is what I created with a few of my new goodies!

First, I used Ranger Distress inks to create the water color backgrounds.

Then I cut the scribble roses, the overlays, and the leaves with my Cuttlebug.

Lastly, I cut the stitched circle and stamped it with my new Encouraging Words stamp. Matching sequins were carefully adhered.
Challenges:

I am very pleased with the outcome. I had watched a few videos on watercolor techniques earlier in the week and was able to use them. Can't wait to use some more watercolors and the other goodies I bought at the MFT boutique.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

August Sketch at Die Cuttin' Divas

Hello Everyone,

Welcome back and thanks for stopping by.  I am a little late with my post this morning because my daughter had her wisdom teeth removed yesterday and she was not doing well with the meds. I had to stay with her all day to make sure she was ok. Hopefully she will be feeling better today.

Today I am sharing the new challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas. Hope you will join us!

This Week's Challenge...
A Sketch
I ran out of "Thank You" cards at my Card Party on Saturday, so I am making more.

Here is the sketch for August. Remember it can be flipped or rotated as long as you can still see the basic sketch. Use your imagination!

Bright colors and an over-sized flower

I cut thanks out at 2 1/4" from the "Just Because" Cricut cartridge.

Hope you will join us at Die Cuttin' Divas this week for our "Sketchchallenge. The other design team members have shared wonderful interpretations of the sketch. Be sure to check them out today!

Thanks for stopping by!
